last semester teaching practice class

Hi people! I love to write the last teaching practice class. I finished my teaching practice with technical english and I think it was good. I started the class with a warm up which was about a review of the simple paste tense of the verb to be. I asked the girls to make two lines, one at the front and one at the back facing each other. Each of them had to have a pair from one side to another. They had to write in their notebooks 3 questions using was/were. After, when I told them to start, one of the lines was going to shout the question to the other person, and the other one was going to write it. When they finished, they had to do the same with their pair. At the end it was funny listening and looking them trying to get the questions. I told them to read some questions they got and I corrected s0me of them. Later on, I gave a page with a reading to each group of 3. I told them to read it and underline new words. The topic I was going to introduce was prepositional phrases. In the reading, there were some examples of the structure of the topic. We practice the pop up reading. I started reading and then, another person had to continue the reading and finish whenever she wanted, and so on. I explained the topic with the reading , and gave some other examples and the rule of the topic. After explaining the rule, I wanted to make sure all understood the rule, and I asked for a volunteer to explain the rule, there were 2 girls that did it, and it was good because some of the students helped them. I gave them some exercises to work on and all of them were working together. I was monitoring if they were working and if they had questions. The last activity was the one I call "the gossip" I explained the meaning of gossip and girls where making fun of that. I told a sentence to one of the girls and this girl had to whisper the gossip until the gossip was heard by the last person in the classroom. Of course , the gossip was wrong at the end, and the girl wrote it on the board. I wrote the correct message and we compared them. I think they liked the activity because they were asking for another gossip, but it was time to say goodbye. I asked the teacher if I had time and she didn´t say nothing, so I gave another message, but this time was too slow and time was running. I said goodbye and thanked them for their collaboration and participation. They clapped as every class, and I felt reliefe to see that I was done with my teaching practice. jejej. So, see you next semester people!!!

third teaching practice

Hi classmates! I had my third teaching practice, and this time, I recorded the class. It was nice because the class collaborated with me in the activities. I started with the warm up activity. It was a spelling game in which they made 3 rows , I said a word to each row to spell one by one. The girls liked the game, but the highest score was 2 points. However, it was a nice activity to start the class. After that, I told them to make 3 groups of 5. I gave them a pack of cards with some words to order the questions in past tense. They started to order the questions, there was one group that finished quickly, and I helped the others to finish. After finish that activity, I asked them to tell me some questions they remembered, and I wrote them on the board. I explained the structure of the questions in simple past tense using was/were. Then, I wrote some exercises on the board to make girls complete the question in past. The girls were working and asking questions about the exercises, it was a nice drill because they could understand better the grammar. After that, I asked them to make a circle; unfortunately, the room was kind of small for the group and it was like an oval, jejej. We played the bottle game, but they didn´t have to kiss. The person who was pointed by the stopper, had to ask a question with was or were to the person pointed by the bottom. They were asking and helping each other to ask and answer the questions. They liked the activity and learned. The last activity, was a matching exercises which I wrote on the board for them. They asked questions and I told them what to do exactly, I made the half of the group read the questions, and the other part read the answer. After that, I say good bye and thank for collaborate with the activities. They are so nice because they always clap me after each class, and I think they liked the class and learned.

Second teaching practice, 3rd period

Hi everyone, Today, I developed my 2nd class with technical english. I started with an active warm up activity, and I think the girls liked it, but they turned too noisy. Some of them tried to calm down, but I think they had fun. After that, I presented the new topic which was the past tense of the verb to be. I wrote a dialogue on the board and told explained them that before an adjective and a noun goes were/was. I asked two of them to go to the front and underlined the adjectives, and I made them realized where they are going to use were / was. I told them to repeat the dialogue and practice in pairs. At first, they complained because I told them they had to learn it by heart, but them I said that they should have an idea or do it similar to the one I wrote on the board. In order to make them pass to the front, I wrote 3 numbers in a page for myself and then I asked them to tell me a numer from one to ten. The pair that said the 3 numbers I had written, they were going to pass to the front. I didn´t erase the conversation on the board so that they feel comfortable without being afraid of performing the conversation. After that, I dictated some exercises about using were /was. I helped some of them because they really had problems with the exercises, but at the end I think they got it. When I finish , I said goodbye to them, and clapped. Today I felt more comfortable than the first day.

Teaching Practice, 3rd period

Hi, classmates, I had my first teaching practice class. I was a little nervous since I arrived early and there were some girls who seemed to be kind of offensive. I thought that it was going to be difficult to interact with them. After some other girls arrived, I realized that I knew some of the girls because they were my classmates before. I introduced myself and tried to make a kind of rapport with them to feel comfortable with the group. After that, I started the warm up activity about past tense. I asked them to make a circle, some of the girls seemed not to like the idea of standying up, and gave one of them a wool ball. I asked them to pass the ball and I made a noise and when I stopped the noise they said a verb in present and in past. They seemed to like to activity. Later, I started the introduction of the topic, and gave them a picture to some of them. I asked them to think or write an affirmative sentence in past tense using that picture. They had go to the front and paste the picture and write the sentence next to the picture. We checked the sentences and repeated as well. I made them to think and write the same sentences in negative and interrogative form, there was only one group that did answer most of the questions, but the other group had some doughts. They asked me some questions about the sentences and I helped them kindly. After that, I made them to practice orally, I gave them some clues to follow the structure of an affirmative, negative or interrogative sentence. They did a good job. When I finished with the clues, I thanked them for their participation and finished the class. As a conclusion I can say that, it is a good group, but it is divided in one group that know more than the other one. I didn´t know this at first, but the teacher let me knew it after class. So, I will try to be more fair with the ones that have less knowledge.
