third teaching practice

Hi classmates! I had my third teaching practice, and this time, I recorded the class. It was nice because the class collaborated with me in the activities. I started with the warm up activity. It was a spelling game in which they made 3 rows , I said a word to each row to spell one by one. The girls liked the game, but the highest score was 2 points. However, it was a nice activity to start the class. After that, I told them to make 3 groups of 5. I gave them a pack of cards with some words to order the questions in past tense. They started to order the questions, there was one group that finished quickly, and I helped the others to finish. After finish that activity, I asked them to tell me some questions they remembered, and I wrote them on the board. I explained the structure of the questions in simple past tense using was/were. Then, I wrote some exercises on the board to make girls complete the question in past. The girls were working and asking questions about the exercises, it was a nice drill because they could understand better the grammar. After that, I asked them to make a circle; unfortunately, the room was kind of small for the group and it was like an oval, jejej. We played the bottle game, but they didn´t have to kiss. The person who was pointed by the stopper, had to ask a question with was or were to the person pointed by the bottom. They were asking and helping each other to ask and answer the questions. They liked the activity and learned. The last activity, was a matching exercises which I wrote on the board for them. They asked questions and I told them what to do exactly, I made the half of the group read the questions, and the other part read the answer. After that, I say good bye and thank for collaborate with the activities. They are so nice because they always clap me after each class, and I think they liked the class and learned.

  1. It seems that it was a nice day :-) We enjoy our classes if we prepare nice activities like the ones you adapted for them.

  2. Maritza I felt kind of intrigued when I read in your post the name of the game: "The bottle game" because I had another concept of it hehehe, but when I read the way you adapted with educational purposes I felt amazed. I can now notice that all of us have developed our imagination to adapt things to our classes to make them enjoyable for the students. Excellent Work friend, and I want you to show me the way you implemented that game ok hehe
